EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO SHINE
Everyone has the Right to Shine !
In the May edition of OT News Lucy Maher talks about how she blends special yoga and occupational therapy skills and the benefits this brings to the neuro diverse children she works with.
She describes how using special yoga has enriched children’s lives helping them with some of the particular challenges they face. She describes too how the approach has also greatly benefited her own practice approaches as a paediatric OT.
I love the philosophy behind special yoga and the thoughts of its founder Jyoti Manuel.....
“Everything we teach at Special Yoga is grounded in love, with respect for ourselves and compassion for those in our care. Everybody has the right to shine”.
This is truly inspiring stuff, especially for me as a parent of a teenager with very complex health and care needs including autism...and as both an OT working in mental health and yoga teacher.
It’s this powerful combination of therapy and yoga and making it accessible to all which is what lifecalma is all about …. helping to bring joy, peace and tranquility to everyone.
